As mentioned in our Skill House description, each Life HouseTM at North Bay Recovery Center acts as a "home away from home" for our Clients. It is at his assigned Life House (presently, there are 3 located in San Rafael) where each Client spends most of his "down time", or time away from the rigors of our drug and alcohol addiction treatment program. Each Life House is a spacious and beautifully appointed home in a residential area and is comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. Televisions are provided and audio devices and musical instruments are permitted. A professional Chef prepares the meals of the day ensuring that the proper nutrition required for recovery is provided. Clients are assigned single or double occupancy living quarters depending upon the progress of their treatment.
While daily living at the Life House is intended to mimic the real-world outside of treatment and include those responsibilities that come with that experience, each Life House is supervised by a North Bay Recovery Center Technician 24/7 to ensure that our S4 (Safe, Sober, Supported & Supervised) philosophy is closely adhered to. Under close observation, Clients are able to live comfortably in a trust-based environment where they can evolve and heal using tools and skills acquired at the Skill House each day.
Transportation between the Skill House and the various Life Houses, as well as to local stores and restaurants, is provided by and supervised by North Bay Recovery Center staff.
