What to Bring to Drug Rehab

Required Items:

Identification: Driver's license, passport or other government-issued photo identification. If you do not have a valid/unexpired photo ID please bring a copy of a birth certificate or social security card.

Payment: Acceptable forms of payment include wire transfer, credit cards, debit cards*, cashier's check, certified check, or cash. Note: We do not accept personal checks and we are required to report cash received in the amount of $10,000.00 or more to the IRS.

*Most debit cards have a daily limit which may restrict payment in full that is due upon admission.

Health Insurance Card: If any outside medical/dental care is required, you can provide the appropriate agency with your insurance provider's information. If no insurance card is provided you will be responsible for all charges incurred.

what to bring to treatment at North BayCredit Card: You will be required to supply North Bay Recovery Center with a credit card for all co-payments, co-insurance or amounts not covered by your insurance company for medications and/or specialized medical services. Examples of such services may include, but are not limited to: detoxification, special medical equipment, dentists, and/or specialized laboratory testing.

Medications: Please bring all prescribed medications in a bag that is easily accessible at the time of admission so that the North Bay Recovery Center admissions and clinical team may review them. Your medications will be stored for you until discharge and new medications will be ordered. Any addictive or mood-altering medications will be disposed of. Authorized medications will be distributed through our contracted pharmacy. Payment of medications is not included in standard treatment rates. Please bring a copy of your pharmacy benefit/insurance card, as the pharmacy will submit a bill to the insurance company. Please note: The pharmacy company is not able to bill all insurance plans, including but not limited to: Kaiser, Health Net, IEHP, MediCal, and non-US based plans.

Additional Items to Bring

Luggage: Please limit yourself to one large suitcase and one carry-on bag of clothing (bags exceeding 25 lbs will be your responsibility to lift and transport). Laundry facilities, detergent, iron and ironing board are provided at no cost.

Clothing: Casual/comfortable clothing that can be layered, sleepwear, shoes for everyday use, workout attire for exercise, hiking shoes and a warm jacket may be essential on many of our activities. Note: Please do not bring clothing with drug or alcohol "logos", excessively tight fitting clothes and/or low cut/revealing items.

Toiletries:  You should pack items as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, hair spray, hair gel, mouth wash, body lotion, and sunscreen.  All toiletries must be alcohol free.

Calling Card: A Calling Card to make long distance calls at designated times. 

Electronics:  A hairdryer, CD player with headset, iPods (iPods with internet will be stored during the initial phase). There is no Internet access permitted during the first 90 days of Primary Care.

*Note:  Please be sure to bring a wall charger for your iPod as USB devices are not permitted on North Bay Recovery Center’s computers.

Tobacco Use: Cigarettes must be in sealed packages. Note:  Clove cigarettes and butane fuel lighters are not allowed. (“BIC” lighters are acceptable). 

Contact Information:  A list including phone numbers and addresses of family,  doctors, psychiatrists, counselors, attorneys, and anyone else you would like to have contact with while in treatment (form is provided for your convenience). 

Voting: Please bring an absentee ballot if you wish to vote while in treatment.
